Lake City sits in the heart of the San Juan Mountain Range just minutes from San Cristobal Lake. The activities to do here are endless: hiking, camping, boating, fly and ice fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, and 4x4 off-roading. Despite its small population, Lake City is home to one VERY famous resident, Alferd Packer. In 1874, he was jailed for killing and eating five fellow gold prospectors during a blizzard!
